The Three winemaking books I recommend

For those looking for an introduction to technical winemaking, I think Yair Margalit's Winery Technology and Operations: A Handbook for Small Wineries is the best book out there.

For in-depth and entertaining looks at winemaking history in California James Conaway's Napa: The Story of an American Eden provides the full history of the characters that built the marquee wineries of the Napa Valley.

And of course, make sure and read Dick Peterson's book The Winemaker, and then listen to my interview with Dick on the Podcast.
