Rosé winemaking class
Class to be held in Napa at Seavey Vineyard on Saturday, 2/18/2023
Rosé is a technically challenging style of wine to produce and requires thoughtful winemaking decisions at every step. This full-day class was designed to identify the critical points during production and to discuss options and tools for winemakers all the way through to bottling.
This class will be quite technical, but will also include the more fun parts of winemaking; tasting and blending.
On Saturday, February 18th we will start at 9AM and finish about 3PM. Lunch and wines are included. I'm capping the event at ten participants so that we can stay focused. This will be useful for wine professionals, but also accessible and fun for anyone with a serious passion for wine.
The technical portion of this Rosé Winemaking Class will cover the following elements
Grape Varietals
Harvest Processing
Acid
Color Extraction
Residual Sugar
Alcohol
Use of SO2
Filtration
Heat and cold stability
Bottling
The tasting segments of this class will include rosés from several varietals and styles. There will also be individual component wines and a hands-on opportunity to build your own blend.
